Keziah's Story
Keziah's journey is one of resilience and perseverance. As a young girl, she experienced a loving and stable relationship with her mother, who ran a daycare. However, her life took a drastic turn when her mother developed schizophrenia, leading to homelessness for both of them. Eventually, they were separated by Child Welfare Services, and Keziah was placed into foster care, where she moved between multiple homes, often feeling like an outsider.
Despite these challenges, Keziah maintained her determination. During her senior year of high school, she worked part-time, overcame academic hurdles, and graduated on time, earning a scholarship to San Diego State University. College presented new difficulties, including homelessness and academic struggles, but a caring adult connected her to Inspire Life Skills Training. This organization provided her with housing, guidance, and the skills needed to succeed.
With the support of Inspire, Keziah is now pursuing her undergraduate degree with dreams of a master’s in nursing. She advocates for foster children, gives back to her community, and shares her story to inspire others. Keziah’s life exemplifies how perseverance can transform pain into purpose.
